Online Application

**We strongly encourage submitting an online application. The online application must be completed in one sitting and cannot be updated once it is submitted.

Please do not begin the application until you have all the required responses. To navigate through the system, please use the navigational links located on the bottom left and bottom right of your screen. Once you have completed the application forms to your satisfaction, sign the "Truth statement", and  submit your application by clicking the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. 

Required Information for Scholarship Application:

1. Personal Information: Includes full name, Address, Email, Phone Number, Date of Birth, Gender, Employment or Professional/volunteer/extra-curricular activities with dates. 

2. Academic Background: Provide highest level of education attained, List awards or scholarships you have received with dates (Provide information that will give the education committee insight to your community involvment and/or leadership qualities). List all academic institutions currently or previously attended (University and Secondary only) with dates and certificates obtained. Start with undergraduate degree or equivalent, in reverse chronological order, from the most recent school attended or currently attending. NOTE that you will be asked to send your current transcript *ONLY IF SHORTLISTED*.

3. Essays:  Below are the three essays you are required to write and submit. Please prepare your essay before you begin the application.

  • In 500 words or less, please write an essay on your future career goals and how you expect the WAAW foundation scholarship will assist in fulfilling those goals.
  • In 300 words or less, please describe what you believe about female education in Africa and its impact on research, development or advancement in African economies.
  • Describe in ten or less sentences how you intend to use the funds from WAAW scholarship to assist your education and career plans.

4. References: Provide contact information on two academic or professional as references: Name, title, address, email and phone numbers. NOTE: An email will be sent to your references ONLY if you are shortlisted.  ** Note that family members or personal friends CANNOT serve as referees. 

5. We recommend that you carefully review all pages of your application to verify that the information is accurate before submission. When you are ready to submit, please read and sign the TRUTH STATEMENT.
